I have 35+ years in software development.
Since 2000 I have been a contributing editor at ACM’s flagship magazine “Communications of the ACM” writing a regular column called “The Business of Software”
I am also the author of “The Laws of Software Process” published by Auerbach Publishers 2003
In my column (and in the book), I explore the epistemological nature of software and the human nature of software development. I plan on doing the same here.
That’s an interesting article. I just wondered if you could tell me where to find more info on this topic ?
Was your request about one of the articles on the blog, or just in general?
If just in general there’s a LOT of stuff out there but it depends on what focus.
My personal thoughts have been informed by:
Ludwig von Bertalanffy: General Systems Theory. A forgotten work of art, uh, make that science, no wait: philosophy! Actually all of these.
Francisco Varela: particularly his work with Maturana (Autopoesis and Cognition; The Tree of Knowledge).
David Bohm: Thought as a System; Wholeness and the Implicate Order
Almost anything by Jerry (Gerald M) Weinberg
That should keep you busy for a while. There will be a test later.
